What is the Golden Tails Gathering?

A joyful, community-driven event bringing together Golden Retriever owners and fans from across Western Canada for a day of dog-friendly fun, connection, and celebration in beautiful Golden, BC.

Why have the Golden Tails Gathering?

Our #1 reason for having this event is that WE LOVE GOLDENS. As an owner of two Goldens who have a social circle full of Goldens, we felt it would be not only be fun but also great way to:

Meet & connect with other Golden Retrievers & their humans
Raise money for Golden Retriever & pet rescues – we’ll be donating to a few local organizations
Celebrate the most golden time of year – FALL – the many colours of which will be on full display

Are all dogs allowed?

Friendly, leashed dogs of any breed are welcome to join the gathering. While Golden Retrievers may be the primary focus, all the doggos all welcome!

Having Fun & Helping

Your registration helps give back to dogs in need. At least 50% of event proceeds in 2026 will be donated to the following three non-profit rescue organizations:

Little Mittens Animal Rescue (Golden BC)

Rescues and re-homes domestic animals as well as rehabilitate and release wild animals throughout the Kootenays and Columbia Valley regions of British Columbia. Learn more.

A grassroots animal welfare organization based in Alberta. Their goal is to help homeless animals in our community and enact societal change, so that we may all witness a Compassionate World for All Animals. Golden Rescue (Canada)

One of the largest single breed rescue groups in Canada. They work hard to ensure that every Golden who enters their program is placed with a safe and loving forever family. They believe Rescue has no borders. Since 1990, Golden Rescue has found homes for abandoned, unwanted or displaced Golden Retrievers throughout Canada. Learn more.
