By purchasing a ticket, registering for the event, entering the event site, or bringing a dog or dogs to the Golden Tails Gathering, I acknowledge and agree to the following terms.

1. Permission to Attend With My Dog

I understand that I am seeking permission to attend the Golden Tails Gathering with my dog(s). I understand that attendance with a dog(s) is a privilege and that the event organizer may refuse entry or require removal of any person or animal for safety, health, behavioural, or operational reasons.

2. Owner / Handler Responsibility

I confirm that I am the owner, legal guardian, or authorized handler of the dog(s) I am bringing to the event. I agree that I am fully responsible for my dog(s)’s behaviour, health, supervision, and control at all times.

I agree to comply with all event rules, venue rules, posted signs, organizer instructions, security instructions, and applicable municipal, provincial, and federal laws, bylaws, and regulations.

3. Age Requirement

I confirm that I am 19 years of age or older. If a dog(s) is being handled by a person under 19, that person must be supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times.

4. Health & Vaccination Confirmation

I confirm that, to the best of my knowledge, my dog(s):

• is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, including rabies and distemper where required or recommended;
• is not currently ill or showing signs of contagious disease;
• has not shown symptoms such as coughing, runny nose, fever, lethargy, eye      discharge, vomiting, diarrhea, or reduced appetite within the last 7 days;
• is not aggressive or reactive in a way that would create a safety risk to people or other animals;
• is not in heat; and
• is fit to safely attend a busy public event with other people and animals.

I understand that the event organizer may refuse entry to, or require removal of, any dog(s) that appears ill, aggressive, uncontrolled, distressed, or unsafe.

5. Event Rules for Dogs

I agree to follow these rules:

• Dogs must be on leash except in designated off-leash areas, if any are      provided.
• Dogs      must be on leash except in designated off-leash areas, if any are      provided.
• Leashes must not exceed 60 inches / 5 feet in length unless otherwise approved by      the event organizer.
• Retractable leashes are not permitted.
• Dog(s) must be secured in a suitable harness, collar, carrier, or containment system appropriate to the animal.
• Owners/handlers must clean up after their dog(s)s immediately.
• Owners/handlers must report any bite, injury, escape, altercation, illness, or incident to event staff immediately.
• Owners/handlers must respect posted signs regarding dog access, swimming areas, off-leash areas, quiet areas, activity zones, and restricted spaces.
• Dog(s) must not be permitted to jump on, chase, threaten, harass, or injure      people, dogs, other animals, vendors, staff, volunteers, or service   animals.
• Event staff may require a dog or handler to leave the event at any time if safety, behaviour, crowding, health, or welfare concerns arise.

6. Local Bylaws and Leash Requirements

I understand that the event takes place in Golden, British Columbia and that local animal control rules may apply. I agree to comply with all Town of Golden responsible dog(s) ownership and animal control requirements, including leash, control, waste, licensing, and off-leash area rules where applicable.

7. Identification

I understand that my dog(s) may be required to wear or carry event identification, such as a wristband, tag, ribbon, or other marker, to remain within the event area. I agree not to remove, transfer, or alter this event identification.

8. Assumption of Risk

I understand and accept that attending a public event with dogs and other animals involves inherent risks. These risks may include, but are not limited to:

• dog bites, scratches, or other injuries;
• slips, trips, falls, collisions, or entanglement with leashes;
• unpredictable animal behaviour;
• interactions with unfamiliar dogs, people, children, vendors, equipment, vehicles,      water features, or natural hazards;
• illness or contagious disease exposure affecting people or animals;
• allergic  reactions;
• property damage, loss, or theft;
• weather-related risks including heat, cold, rain, wind, smoke, or poor ground conditions;
• risks associated with swimming ponds, off-leash areas, demonstrations, contests,      games, photo areas, crowds, and other event activities.

I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my attendance and my dog(s)’s attendance at the event.

9. Release of Liability

In consideration of being permitted to attend the Golden Tails Gathering and/or bring my dog(s) to the event, I agree to release and hold harmless the event organizer, venue owner/operator, sponsors, vendors, contractors, staff, volunteers, photographers, videographers, security providers, municipal partners, and their respective directors, officers, employees, representatives, agents, successors, and assigns from any and all claims, demands, actions, losses, damages, costs, expenses, or liabilities arising from or related to my attendance, my dog(s)’s attendance, my dog(s)’s behaviour, my participation in event activities, or my use of the event site.

This release includes, to the fullest extent permitted by law, claims arising from negligence, breach of duty, injury, illness, death, property damage, loss, theft, or any incident involving myself, my dog(s), another attendee, another animal, or event property.

10. Indemnity

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the event organizer, venue owner/operator, sponsors, vendors, contractors, staff, volunteers, photographers, videographers, security providers, municipal partners, and their respective directors, officers, employees, representatives, agents, successors, and assigns from any claims, losses, damages, costs, expenses, or liabilities, including legal fees, arising from:

• my actions or omissions;
• my dog(s)’s actions or behaviour;
• my failure to follow event rules;
• my failure to comply with applicable laws or bylaws;
• any injury, loss, or damage caused by me, my minor child, my guest, or my dog(s).

11. Photography and Video

I understand that photography and video recording may take place at the Golden Tails Gathering. By attending, I grant permission for the event organizer to use photos or videos of me, my dog(s), and/or my minor child for event-related marketing, social media, website, media, sponsor, archival, and future promotional purposes without further compensation.

If I do not wish to be photographed, I understand that I must notify event staff upon arrival and make reasonable efforts to avoid photo/video areas.

12. Medical and Veterinary Care

In the event of an emergency, I authorize event staff to contact emergency services, first aid, animal control, or veterinary services as deemed necessary. I understand that I remain responsible for all medical, veterinary, transportation, or related costs for myself, my guests, my minor child, and my dog(s).

13. Removal From Event

I understand that the event organizer reserves the right to deny entry, remove any person or dog(s), or revoke participation without refund if a person or dog(s) is deemed unsafe, disruptive, aggressive, non-compliant, ill, in distress, or otherwise unsuitable for the event environment.

14. Acknowledgement

By purchasing a ticket, registering, signing this waiver, or entering the event site, I acknowledge that:

• I have read and understood this waiver;
• I understand that I am giving up certain legal rights, including the right to sue;
• I have had the opportunity to ask questions before agreeing;
• I am signing or accepting this waiver voluntarily;
• this waiver is binding on me and my heirs, legal representatives, successors,      and assigns.
